Updated: Jolly Pumpkin In Midtown Detroit Closes After 11 Years. Mediterranean Restaurant Moving In.

Update: 12:45 a.m. Tuesday: The Detroit News reports that Spiedo, a "Mediterranean-ish" concept, will move into the Jolly Pumpkin spot.

Jolly Pumpkin Pizzeria and Brewery, which was part of Detroit's business resurgence in Midtown, aka the Cass Corridor, closed on Sunday.

"After 11 incredible years, JP is closing its doors," the restaurant at 441 W. Canfield said on Facebook. "We are so grateful for the love, support, and memories you’ve shared with us over the years, it has truly meant everything."

"This isn’t goodbye, just see you soon. JP will be back in Detroit, and we can’t wait to share what’s next. Stay tuned here for updates. With heartfelt thanks."

The restaurant chain still has locations in Ann Arbor, Dexter, East Lansing, and Traverse City.
